When my son, Grant Nerove, was 16 years old he decided he would like to learn to play the piano. I thought it was a too late to be of much good, but I contacted Larisa Felt for a once a week lesson. Within a few months Grant was performing in a piano recital and I was amazed at how far he had progressed. The next two years were filled with amazing growth in his abilities and technique. Not only was he playing more advanced pieces, but he was composing his own work. She also prepared him for his audition for the college orchestra. He is now the piano player for the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic Orchestra, with maestro Dr. Kevin P. Bartram. In 2009 the orchestra received the American
Prize for being among the top nine college orchestras in the country and Maestro Bartram was honored as a top conductor in the college-orchestra conductors division. As you can imagine, we are very proud of Grant and his talent, but most of all I am thankful for Larisa's exceptional guidance and instruction in making Grant successful in developing his talent. Due to her personalized instruction and training, Grant has been given a gift that will be with him the rest of his life. She now teaches my daughter, 8 year old Autumn Nerove, who of course would like to be just like her big brother.

I first met Larisa in church when she became our Church pianist at Summit Presbyterian. My daughter Hannah now 13 began lessons with Larisa at the age of 7. Hannah was not the best about steady practice, but Larisa continued to work with her for four years, being always patient and kind. Hannah did very well with piano and has taken what Larisa taught her about music with her to Rodney Thompson Middle School to play the Tenor Saxophone. I have now started my 8 year old Caitlyn with Larisa not only to teach her the music, but to enhance Caitlyn's concentration and academic skills. Larisa is a wonderful teacher and my children adore her.

Larisa Felt has been my daughter’s piano teacher for several years. As Annie got older and moved into high school I was concerned that she might lose interest in the piano. Fortunately, Larisa inspired her to be the best that she can be and my daughter has continued to play. Larisa picks fun and challenging pieces for the students and likes to change things up, having them even do duets with other students on occasion. Not only has my daughter stuck with the piano, I now believe that it has become a great outlet for her. With her vigorous school load and sporting activities, the piano offers her a chance to sit down, relax and enjoy the music. Our whole family loves listening to her play and we appreciate all that Larisa has done for our daughter.

Larisa has been a wonderful instructor to Bailey over these past 10 years. She is like family to us. Watching our daughter grow and mature in her
chosen art form with Larisa has created many special memories and we think has better prepared Bailey for successful future.
